Thai Massage Prices 2026: Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket Compared

[don]

The question we get most often from visitors is simple: how much should a Thai massage actually cost? Here is a straight answer based on what members report across the country in 2026.

Short answer One hour of traditional Thai massage in Thailand in 2026 typically costs 250 to 350 baht at a local side-street shop, 400 to 800 baht in a tourist area or a mid-range shop on a main road, and 1,500 baht or more inside a hotel spa. Oil massage usually adds 100 to 200 baht. Foot massage is often slightly cheaper than body massage.

Bangkok
Local shops in Huai Khwang, Ratchada and Lat Phrao: 250 to 400 baht
Sukhumvit, Asok, Thonglor, Ekkamai: 400 to 800 baht
Silom, Sathorn, Bang Rak: 350 to 700 baht
Hotel spas anywhere in the city: 1,500 to 4,000 baht

Pattaya and the east coast
Pattaya Klang and Soi Buakhao: 250 to 450 baht
Walking Street area: 400 to 900 baht
Jomtien and Naklua: 200 to 500 baht
Rayong and Sriracha: 200 to 450 baht

Phuket and the south
Patong, Karon, Kata: 400 to 900 baht
Phuket Old Town and inland: 250 to 450 baht
Koh Samui, Chaweng and Lamai: 350 to 800 baht
Krabi and Ao Nang: 300 to 600 baht
Hat Yai: 200 to 400 baht, the cheapest major city in the country

What actually changes the price
Rent is the biggest factor. A shop on a beach road pays many times what a shop three streets inland pays, and the price follows. Certified therapists cost 100 to 200 baht more. Shops open after midnight usually add a late-hour charge. In heavy tourist areas some shops quote two different prices.

How to avoid overpaying
Always read the price board before you sit down. Walk away from any shop that will not show prices first. Ask exactly what is included. Tipping is not compulsory but 50 to 100 baht per hour is normal and remembered. In Patong, Chaweng and Walking Street, walking two or three kilometres away from the beach often cuts the price nearly in half for the same quality.
