มาตรฐานของ Data Center

การสร้างศูนย์ข้อมูลอินเทอร์เน็ตหรือ Data Center นั้นไม่ใช่สร้างกันดื้อๆไม่มีแนวทางอะไรครับผม แต่มีมาตรฐานที่เรียกว่า ANSI/TIA-942 กำหนดระดับคุณภาพของData Center ออกเป็น 4 ระดับ หรือที่เรียกในวงการว่า Tier ซึ่งแค่ Tier1 มาตรฐานอย่างต่ำสุดสำหรับการเป็น IDC ก็กำหนดว่าระบบจำต้องปฏิบัติงานได้อย่างน้อย 99.671% หรือในหนึ่งปีระบบล่มได้ไม่เกิน 28.83ชั่วโมงแล้ว ส่วน Tier 4 ที่เป็นมาตรฐานสูงสุดกำหนดให้ระบบจำต้องทำงานได้ 99.995% หรือปีหนึ่งล่มได้ไม่เกิน 26.28 นาที รวมทั้งต้องมีระบบสำรองพร้อมดำเนินการเสมอ
